nakita and i were the first two girls to be brought into the bhs boys of '07 group back in 2010.
we had to bond together seeing as we were very outnumbered in the gender ratio,
not to mention that it takes a tough girl to put up with those boys when they all get together.
we ended up getting engaged and married a month apart,
so we've gone through this whole marriage experience at the same time.
it's been so nice to have someone to talk to who can relate about wedding planning,
living with a boy, wanting to shop but being on a budget, how cleaning a house is never-ending,
being called to Primary so no more sleeping in the first hour of church, having new in-laws, etc.
now in the cooking department, neither of us had any major skills to brag about when we got married.
i'm not saying that we were absolutely horrible (you remember my first chili experience),
but we definitely weren't being asked to host our own show on food network.
a few months ago we decided that we could now risk food poisoning each other,
instead of just our hubbies (don't worry that hasn't happened yet).
we started doing dinners at each other houses every other week, splitting up the cooking duties.
i must say that it has gone quite well!!! i haven't gotten pics of every meal, but here are some:
yes we realize that almost every single one of our meals has been salmon or mexican themed,
but we are going to be branching out so if you have any good recipes send them our way!
our husbands will greatly appreciate it.
move over martha and rachel,
missy and nakita are taking over the kitchen!
I'm impressed. And jealous. That sounds like so much fun! Excited to see you in two weeks. xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh I am OBSESSED with this! It seriously has forced me to improve my skills and make more then the few dishes I can. I have no doubt that by this time next year, we will be experts! (I really mean that too!) After my final tomorrow I am going to start planning the next meal! xo
