timmy

all night i was hoping to hear:
"...when you think tim mcgraw, i hope you think my favorite song..."
but alas, no surprise appearance from t-swift was to be had.
nonetheless, it was a fun night planned by the girls for "fathers day".
$7.00 mini pizzas, blankets on the lawn, and cute husbands were all we needed.
tim mcgraw concerts also remain to be the only place dawson will sing outloud with me.

now just as a side note.
i was thoroughly appalled by the apparel of some of the young ladies at the concert.
i KNOW their daddy's didn't see them leave the house in those outfits.
maybe i am getting old and prudish,
but denim shorts with the button folded open and a bra top is just too much skin.
however i was very grateful for my prudishness and covered belly,
as we were stuffing our faces with chips & queso, pazookies and molten lava cakes at chili's afterwards.

we're feeling 22!!!

if you know me at all, you know how much i love taylor swift.
this is the 5th concert of hers that i've been to,
and i still got tears in my eyes when she came out onto the stage and started her first song.

it's not that i think she is the best singer in the world. or the prettiest girl in the world. or even a good dancer.
she is actually so awkward and so melodramatic and so gangly that i almost cringe.
but every time she does a hair flip, stares at the audience for 3 minutes in fake amazement, or says a cheesy line,
i just love her even more.

there is nothing better than rocking out to a taylor swift song in your car, cooking dinner, or in the shower.
except maybe rocking out to a taylor swift song when you're hearing her live
and she is putting on a spectacular and highly entertaining concert.

i'm so glad i got to enjoy it with some of my favorite people (even though daw refused to go this year)!
brittany and i ate dinner at gateway before with all the other 12 year old girls and their moms,
and then i was in pure bliss for 2 straight hours when t-swift graced us with her presence.
she even sang my favorite song, love story. yes i recorded it and have watched it multiple times.
thanks again to my fabulous dad for knowing how much it means to me and getting the tickets!!! xo

Taylor Swift Concert

I told Dawson we were going to this ever since tickets went on sale many months ago.  I like to think I'm T-Swift's biggest fan and I couldn't wait to watch Taylor in all her awkward glory in concert again.  I love the girl, but I'm not going to lie, she is 5 feet and 10 inches of uncoordinated hair whipping dance moves.

I had to come straight from a 12 hr shift at the hospital, but lucky for me I have a sweet husband who picked me up on his motorcycle and got us there in record time with VIP parking.  I felt like we were in a movie with the way he was weaving through traffic, Daw could easily be a stunt car/motorcycle driver.

The concert did not disappoint, and I am proud to say my voice was completely gone by the end.  2nd best night of the year!!!

Tim McGraw

We went on our first "married couple" date this weekend to the Tim McGraw concert.  The lucky couple we went with was my BFF from 7th grade, Brittany (Johnson) Snow and her hubby Matt (aka Mountain).  They got married 2 years ago and so far we're the only 2 from our group of friends married, which in Utah is kinda crazy. So we decided we need to bond together in married life.

I was soooo excited for the concert, and Tim sure didn't disappoint.  He sang tons of classic hits, and I was so happy when I heard Dawson's voice singing along with me to the classic "Where the Green Grass Grows" (I can't ever get Dawson to sing in the car with me, so this was very unexpected).  It was so much fun, maybe even the second best night of the summer, the first being our wedding, of course.

We saw our other friends there, the one and only Caitlin Roundy and the soon the be married Jane Garner.  Caitlin used her sexuality to get two ticket upgrades, so they didn't sit by us.  Thanks to Caitlin they got to be in seats that were super close to Tim, who has recently been working out and was looking verryyy good in his tight jeans.

After the concert and the usual awful USANA traffic, we went to Yogurtland (which was thankfully open til midnight) and got the best fro yo ever.  Matt entertained us for quite some time, telling us all about his new favorite show, Teen Wolf.  It was such a fun night, and I can't wait for many more date nights to come!
